Griffith Golf Club Juniors & CadetsThe Griffith Golf Club runs golf sessions for juniors & cadets after school on Monday's. Entry to the program is free every Monday for Cadet Members of the Griffith Golf Club. Cadet Membership is just $40 per year. The program is designed to encourage children to become active members of the golf club along with their siblings and parents. The program is made up of both golf on the course as well as coaching sessions with our professionals, Neil and Bryan as well as an end of term Skills Challenge. The Skills Challenge gives our cadets the opportunity to test out the different aspects of their game, such as putting, chipping and pitching, and full shots and give them the ability to track their improvement. The cadets are split into three different groups based on their skill level/age. Silver Squad - Older and more skillful cadets that can play at least 5 full length holes. Cadets will be able to complete 9 holes confidently and have a good knowledge of the basic rules of golf before proceeding to become 18 hole playing Junior Members. Bronze Squad - Cadets that have basic knowledge of the game and safety. Can also hit the ball with some degree of control. Bronze Squad cadets will typically play on a three hole mini-course and keep score. These cadets will be able to complete the mini-couse in less than 18 shots comfortably and also have some understanding of basic rules and ettiquette. Go-Go Golf - Our entry level to the game of golf for cadets with no previous experience at golf. Cadets in this squad play some basic golf type games to develop their skill set in order to move into the Bronze Squad and begin playing on the mini-course.
